For as long as people have been worshipping in churches, there have been acolytes who prepared these sacred spaces and assisted the clergy before, during and after the services. The word acolyte comes from the Greek word for follower – akolouthos.
Serving as an acolyte is a great way to feel connected to worship and offer an important gift as a liturgical assistant. It is our desire to meet our youth where they are and offer inclusive, positive opportunities for each of them based on their interest and abilities.
Contact Bart Geissinger, (845) 389-7371 or bgeissinger@episcopalct.org, to get involved.

Young people are our greatest blessing, and are always welcome in worship at St. Paul’s. There are activity bags in the narthex called Buddy Bags which are regularly stocked with coloring pages, crayons, and other quiet activities for use during church.
Once a month during the school year we offer Youth Sundays, a day when our younger parishioners lead worship as ushers, greeters, lectors and intercessors, and acolytes. The sermon is tailored to engage children and youth. To get involved with Youth Sunday please contact Bart Geissinger, (845) 389-7371 or bgeissinger@episcopalct.org.

The Children’s Choir offers a fun and engaging way for younger members to participate in worship through song. It’s a great opportunity for kids to learn about music, build teamwork, and deepen their faith.
